Heritage Butchers & Farm Shop

Traditional butchery. Outstanding local produce. Friendly, knowledgeable service.

At Heritage Butchers & Farm Shop, we believe good meat starts with good farming.

We source quality meat and poultry from trusted local producers wherever possible, then prepare it properly in our Northamptonshire shop using traditional butchery skills.

Whether you’re looking for the perfect Sunday roast, steaks for the weekend, something easy for supper or advice on a less familiar cut, Richard and the team are always happy to help.

Christmas at Heritage

Christmas orders open from mid-October.

Locally sourced turkeys and festive roasting joints to pigs in blankets, sausages, bacon and all the essentials for a proper Christmas dinner.

Order forms will be available to download from our website or collect from the shop.

Proper butchery, done properly

Our counter changes with the seasons, but you’ll regularly find locally sourced beef, pork, lamb and poultry alongside our own sausages, burgers, meatballs and other handmade products.

We’re an independent butcher, so if you don’t see exactly what you need, ask us. We can advise on cuts, quantities and cooking, prepare meat to your requirements and help you get the most from your budget.

Above all, we want Heritage to be the sort of butcher’s shop where customers enjoy coming through the door.

From Elliott’s to Heritage

For more than 100 years, the Elliott family bred and reared grass-fed cattle and sheep in Northamptonshire, supplying generations of local customers through their traditional butcher’s shop in Kislingbury.

Visiting the old shop on Hodges Lane, with its chain fly screen, tiny counter and traditional butcher’s block, was like stepping back in time. It wasn’t unusual to find a queue outside waiting to be served by aproned butchers in freshly pressed shirts and ties.

In 2020, Elliott’s moved to Noborough Lodge Farm Shop, just off the A5 near The Heart of the Shires, giving the business a larger home with plenty of parking and easy access from Daventry, Long Buckby, Weedon, Braunston and the surrounding villages.

Richard and Julie Heritage took over the business in 2023, continuing its emphasis on quality meat, traditional butchery and personal service.

Today, that evolution is reflected in our new name:

Heritage Butchers & Farm Shop

The name may have changed, but the principles behind the shop remain reassuringly familiar: excellent produce, skilled butchery, knowledgeable advice and genuinely friendly service.
